The Korea Times reports that dozens of people in Pikachu costumes will parade the streets of Seoul this Saturday (8 November 2014) in celebration of the first Korean professional gamer to win the world Pokémon Championship.

Back in August, the 2014 Pokémon Video Game World Championship was held in Washington DC with Korean professional gamer Park Se-joon emerging as the victor.

The event will feature 'Pikachu Show Time' that will be staged four times a day from 2pm to 6pm, and other activities which include card game competitions, card game classes, pop quizzes and a junior match with opportunities to play against Creatures Inc. the creators of the Pokémon cards. Winners will receive USD200 in cash. There will also be an interview with the developers of the upcoming Pokemon games Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby.

In the video above, a similar Pokémon Day was held in Yokohama, Japan in last August with a stage performance of the Pikachu Mob.
