It's time to pump up your summerwear as temperatures go up a few notches. Inspired by the crisp and clean elements of water, Nautica's spring outfits fuse classic nautical details with reinvented fabrics, silhouettes and bright tropical colours for a refreshed chic and breezy look.

This year's spring collection makes one envision the leisure of setting sail for lush tropical destinations: think abstract florals, unique combination of stripes, laidback silhouettes and colour blocking for a modernised, nautical look. For women, there are four collections to suit their fancy.

The Charter combines the brand's signature stripes with tropical, colour blocked prints, among which are a navy engineered stripe trench coat, a mesh nylon vest and a trench hybrid jacket tailored for the active, trendy woman.

If you prefer the beachy, casual style, the Windswept collection offers looks for picture-perfect moments on the golden sands. Choose from an array of relaxed, seaside pieces in the nautical colour palette of navy, rose coral and sail white, like the coastal wash chambray boyfriend shirt, comfy jersey dresses and maxi skirts, and a palm leaf striped poncho.

Imagining yourself sauntering the shoreline of Hawaii? The Kauai collection will transport you to the idyllic island in just a change of an outfit. The tropical colour palette of deep marine, navy and fuchsia pink is weaved into functional pieces like the tiki striped mitered maxi skirt that works as a dress and skirt, and a day-to-night flutter kona print dress.

The celebration of stripes continues into the spring 2015 collection for men, too. The modern and clean collection interprets the nautical theme in a more graphic sense, featuring pops of bold colour alongside a foundation of navy and white. Swimwear makes a big statement; shorter, in bright colours and drawstring waist details. Shirts are made from raw denim, gingham and chambray, in a tapered fit to complement pants in white denim and red chinos for a smart ensemble.
