Fore! It’s Back

The CIMB Classic is set to return for its ninth edition in Kuala Lumpur this month. As the only PGA TOUR FedExCup tournament held in Southeast Asia, the prestigious event will feature the leading men’s golfers from the PGA TOUR and from around the world as they vie for the title won by American Pat Perez last year. Former champions have included Justin Thomas, who is the 2018 FedExCup champion, and Ryan Moore.

Rockin’ Weekend

Immerse yourself in all things country at the Mount Hunter Country Music Stampede, a three-day festival that celebrates country life and music. Catch powerhouse performances by some of Australia’s leading country artists, including Drew McAlister, Adam Harvey, Christie Lamb and Adam Brand, and enjoy a line-up of events such as a showcase of traditional cowboy skills and an equestrian contest. Back for its second year is the Maton Rising Star competition, with both a junior and senior section where aspiring country musicians can battle it out for a coveted cash prize.

Why wait for the weekend when you can go after dark? Museums At Night is a three-day biannual festival that sees participating museums and galleries across the U.K. opening their doors to visitors till late. Those who enjoy a spooky setting will find the late-night exhibitions, Halloween-themed events, quirky workshops and talks, as well as torch-lit tours the perfect opportunity to soak in English culture and history – with a dash of eeriness.

Based on the original by Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot, the Hong Kong Ballet proudly presents Giselle, a passionate tale of love, betrayal and forgiveness. Widely considered one of the greatest romantic ballets of all time, the show will feature a fresh new staging by Hong Kong Ballet artistic director Septime Webre and South African ballet artist Charla Genn, with coveted virtuoso roles and an iconic ballet blanc (white act). Featuring stunning sets, costumes and live accompaniment by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the show is classical ballet at its finest, and a guaranteed treat for ballet enthusiasts.

Creative Juice

Urbanscapes, Malaysia’s longest-running creative arts festival, is back with a well-curated citywide celebration spanning three weekends. Themed #REIMAGINEKL, the festival stays true to its roots of inspiring character, culture and community building through accessible arts, ideas and music, all set against a backdrop of Kuala Lumpur.Highlights include performances by international music acts, such as five-time Grammy nominee and R&B sensation Khalid, British alternative band Wolf Alice, South Korean outfit Se So Neon, and Thai soul artist Phum Viphurit. There will also be a series of art exhibitions, dance and theatre performances, puppetry shows, and more.
