Revive in the celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival with Central Market Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur Hawkers and Petty Traders Association this month end, on 30th September 2017, beginning at 4.00pm.
Taking place at Central Market Outdoor Stage, a ‘Mid-Autumn Celebration' will be showcasing the beauty of Chinese culture in Malaysia with a lot of hands-on activities to experience. From fun lantern-making and mooncake-making workshop to challenging riddles and Chinese calligraphy demonstration, all these synonymous symbol of Mid-Autumn are offered for free on a first-come, first-served basis in celebration of the festivity.
The Complex Manager of Central Market Kuala Lumpur, Madam Cheong Wai Mun, says that the celebration is definitely a showcase of extraordinary insight for visitors of all age groups to experience.
“Besides learning our heritage through all the booth activities, visitors will also get to explore vivid cultural elements by watching thrilling stage performances at the event. We will be featuring live acrobatic show, martial art performance, lion dance and dragon dance as well as graceful multiracial dance especially for visitors at the event,”
Additionally with the support from Kuala Lumpur Hawkers and Petty Traders Association and Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau this year, the festivities will also include a colourful lantern parade between Central Market and Petaling Street passing Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, accompanied by dragon and lion dance groups.
Visitors may even get their own lantern for free at the venue for them to join in the parade and showcase the uniqueness and liveliness of Malaysian culture.
Besides walking on a parade, visitors will also get to explore the event area and shop from the exciting line-ups of car boot sales with various art and craft products alongside homemade desserts and snacks.
